Why we love quirky homes and the people that live in them

We love each and every one of the homes we have on the market, not in spite of their quirks, but because of them! The quirks are what make a home and they provide the best stories. What is your story?

What is your story?

We have been selling homes for the last 30 years and of all the homes we take on, some are often very unique and quirky! Some of our best homes might have unusual features like saunas in the bathrooms, glitter worktops in the kitchen, bedrooms that lead on to other bedrooms or even upside down houses. The fact of the matter is, we love each and every one of them, not in spite of their quirks, but because of them! The quirks are what make a home and they provide the best stories.

Not everyone will love all the homes we have on our books of course. But it only takes one buyer to fall in love with a home just as much as its owner originally did – for it to be the perfect match. Very often we find that the perfect buyer is actually very similar to the seller. If the seller has lived in the home for the last 30 years, we find sometimes that the same sort of buyer is also looking to spend their next 30 years creating their own memories. After all, if they made fantastic memories in the house, maybe it’s time for them to continue their next chapter somewhere else and for this new buyer to have their next chapter in this home.

What we have learned over the years is that it’s not just about the bricks and mortar. It has something to do with the life that has been lived in the house, the memories, the joys, the history, the birthdays and events every home shares over the years. When a buyer walks into a home they make their decision based on how they feel when they are in there. Have you ever walked into somewhere and got a “feeling”. No matter how logical and analytical people are when they are looking at a house, they always buy for emotional reasons. They buy it because it feels right and they can imagine themselves living there and spending their summers or christmases there. They are the buyers who deserve it. They are the people that are going to make the house their own and love it for all the reasons the current owners love it.

This is why our job is so important to us. We want to find people the best houses so that they can enjoy their life and have a lifestyle they may have dreamt of for many years. Buying and selling is a massive decision and we want to make sure that we make the journey as pleasant as possible for both parties.
