Tips for hosting a perfect BBQ!

When you think of the Summer in the UK, then chances are that you will instantly think of BBQ’s and spending time with family and friends.

It is great fun being invited to a BBQ, especially since you don’t need to worry about hosting, cooking or cleaning up afterwards. But, that said, if you do fancy hosting one for yourself, then there are things that you can do to make it the most perfect BBQ in the world ever!

Only invite as per your garden space
When we are looking forward to something, such as a BBQ, there may be a likelihood that you get a little carried away with your invites and end up having everyone you have ever met round. This not only means that you might run out of sausages, but it also means that you are going to be cramped on space. Not exactly ideal for creating a party atmosphere is it?

Have places for people to sit
Having guests in your garden means that you need to think about where they are all going to sit. You can get extra garden furniture in, but you may find that plenty of your guests will be more than happy just to relax on a blanket on the grass in the sunshine.

Consider marinating to the next level
Everyone can slap some burgers and sausages on the BBQ and hope for the best, but to take yours to the next level you should definitely think about marinating your meat. Marinades can really transform the taste of meat and best of all they don’t need to be anything too fancy. The best thing to do is make yourself some at home and pop the meat in the fridge, we can promise you that by the time the BBQ is fired up, the meat is going to taste amazing!

Prep as much as you can
If you are hosting a BBQ then the worst thing that you can do is disappear off into the kitchen, making up salads and other side dishes. Of course, there are some things that you cannot prepare in advance, but if you can, then definitely do. It will mean that there is much less to do when your guests are there, leaving you time to socialise.

Light the BBQ with plenty of time
You should never leave lighting the BBQ until the last minute, instead, you should make sure that it is ready to cook once a few guests have arrived. That way you can start to bring out food early on (especially good for those hungry tummies) and you also don’t need to be running around panicking.

Make drinks help yourself
If you are hosting, then you are going to be busy cooking, dishing up and just generally making sure that everyone is having a great time. One way that you can help to save yourself from a hosts headache is to take the heat off of yourself in the drinks area. Make the drinks help yourself, have a table, or a fridge dedicated to the beverages and encourage guests to help themselves as and when they need to. That way you don’t have to worry about asking whether or not everyone has a drink.

Relax
No-one likes to see a flustered host, so one thing that you can do is to make sure that you do your best to relax as much as you can. You should enjoy your BBQ as much as your guests, even if you are the one left to tidy up the next day.
