Students - We have collaborated with WHAT3WORDS

This year we have collaborated with what3words. A company that has divided the world into 3 metre squares and gave each square a unique combination of three words.

What is WHAT3WORDS?
The simplest way to talk about location.

This year we have collaborated with what3words. A company that has divided the world into 3 metre squares and gave each square a unique combination of three words. You will see on the student booklet, each property has their own three words. Put those three words into the what3words app or website and find the exact location of the student property!

Street addresses weren’t designed for 2021. They aren’t accurate enough to specify precise locations, such as building entrances, and don’t exist for parks and many rural areas.

This makes it hard to find places and prevents people from describing exactly where help is needed in an emergency or if you have a delivery. Just say those three words!

Why do I need WHAT3WORDS when I have google maps?
Google Maps is a tool for navigation, public transport and for looking up POIs. what3words has a very different function – it’s an easy way to communicate exact locations, whether that’s spoken over the phone or into a car voice navigation system, or typed into a taxi app or a website checkout page.

If you’re given a what3words location, you can open it in the what3words app, then tap ‘Navigate’ and select ‘Google Maps’ to open the exact location in Google Maps and get directions.

Future facing
At Alexanders we like to make sure we are at the fore front of the industry, keeping our customers up to date and future facing. We’re providing the location precision and simplicity needed by drones, voice-controlled
devices and driverless cars.

I've seen a property I like, do I tell you the three words?
Yes, you will see on our website listings and on the student booklet how each property has been given their own three words. Say to us those three words and we will be able to find the property instantly.

Download the app or use the website
Millions of people around the world use what3words to make life safer, more efficient and less frustrating.

Take a look at our student booklet where you will see each property allocated to three words.

Take care,

The Alexanders Team.

As we move through May 2026, buyers are seeing more homes come to market, but affordability still matters. Here is what today’s mix of greater choice, steady demand and higher mortgage costs means if you are planning a move.

For tenants, April is a useful point to pause and plan. With rents still rising across the UK and the first phase of rental reform approaching in England, this is a good time to review your budget, renewal options and next move.

More homes are competing for buyer attention, so sellers need more than a hopeful asking price. A smart launch, realistic valuation and strong presentation can help attract serious interest.

April is a good time for buyers to focus on readiness rather than guesswork. In a market where choice has improved but confidence remains mixed, being organised can make all the difference when the right home comes along.
