Student furniture donated to local independent businesses!

We have recently been part of a massive renovation along Aberystwyth seafront, a Victorian building that has been converted into 100 en-suite student rooms. A building that screams seaside living with chips and ice cream!

With lots of potential and located in a prime spot, Clarendon on Victoria Terrace unfortunately had become tired and dated. Since taking over the management, we started our refurbishment! We have teamed up with Pobl Group who are positive, connected and an experienced landlord – one of the biggest in Wales.

They have stripped out all of the old furniture, including bulky wooden desks, metal framed beds, wooden wardrobes and plastic computer chairs. We have now replaced them with sleek, less bulky, modern white furniture and ALL brand new queen sized beds.

In addition to this they have used local painters and decorators, carpenters and electricians to bring the décor up to date.

In recent months we have focused on campaigns to promote and identify ways to become more sustainable, in every sense. From our period poverty campaign, plant a seed campaign, 24 days of Christmas giveaways and the support local campaign etc.

With all the building being completely renovated, there was a lot of furniture that was going to go to waste. We didn't want to just destroy it so we decided to recycle it. One of the main businesses that were happy to have our furniture was Aberystwyth's very own Aladdin's cave CRAFT.

CRAFT is independent, not-for profit business whose sole purpose is to reduce domestic items and find them a new home. Perfect for our unwanted student furniture! By recycling the furniture, our hope is that someone can reuse and re-enjoy these and reduce the unnecessary waste that finds its way to landfill.

We have had so much fun on this renovation and we are pleased that we were able to donate 75% of our furniture to CRAFT.

Keeping it local – because it’s great to help each other out.
Saving the planet – no one likes the idea of once-loved stuff piling up in landfill, never rotting away. So donate it, or give it to someone who needs it, or recycle it.

#SupportLocal

Take care,

The Alexanders Team.

Selling for the first time can feel overwhelming. Everyone has advice, most of it conflicting. Here are the key questions to ask every estate agent, plus the step-by-step process you’ll go through to launch your home the right way.

If you’re hoping to move in the first half of 2026, now’s the time to start thinking ahead. The property market might feel quieter as we head into winter, but getting your timing right over the next few months could be the difference between moving in spring or waiting until summer.
