Feel Good Friday: Aberystwyth's Famous People

Hello and welcome to another Feel Good Friday and boy what a week to be feeling good! The Lockdown is over, the sun has had it's hat on and we have simply loved hearing the positive news from our local businesses.

1) Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was spotted around Aberystwyth last week!

Did you spot him? Gordon was spotted by locals in the town, where he was thought to have been filming for the National Geographic series Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted.

Gordon stayed at Gwesty Cymru, on the seafront that was taken over by local hoteliers, husband and wife Julian and Anna Maria Shelley, who also run Cardigan and Celtic Bay guest houses on the promenade. Hope he loved our town as much as we love it!

2) Former glamour model from Aberystwyth's personal pictures stolen and used to defraud men online.
Jess Davies, 27, said she was been facing a 10-year battle with con artists who have stolen pictures from her time as a glamour model.

"I hope that something can change in how consent is seen when it comes to photos that are shared online. To me, it's simple: if you consent to a photo being taken in one context, it doesn't mean it can be used however and wherever anyone chooses." Well done Jess for speaking up and getting awareness out there for young people today.

3) Nathan chef at Aberystwyth's SY23 appears on Great British Menu

The Welsh chefs on Great British Menu whose cooking was described as 'breathtaking'.
Owner of SY23 restaurant in Aberystwyth, Nathan has worked in Wales' finest restaurants.

The 30-year-old has worked with Stephen Terry at The Hardwick in Abergavenny and as Head Chef at Michelin starred Ynshir under Gareth Ward for four years.

At his SY23 venue Nathan strives to use the best produce from within the restaurant's postcode (SY23!).

Andi Olivier said Nathan's cooking has 'been breathtaking' during his week on the show. And his dessert - The Sky At Night bagged 10/10. Well done Nathan!

Thank you all for representing Aberystwyth!
