5 Reasons you should SELL in September

While Spring is known as the favourite time to sell a house, there are other times of the year that are good for selling. Families who are looking for a larger home tend to buy at three distinctive times of the year. Autumn – Spring and Early Summer. Do you recognise any of the significance of these times? They are term times!

We find that our time in August is usually quiet, as buyers with children don’t usually like house hunting during the holidays. Perhaps they are going on holiday, they have no child care, or they don’t want the stress of viewing homes with children who are bored and do not understand what is happening.

Waiting until the children are back in school means parents can view homes in peace.
Here are our top 5 reasons why selling in Autumn may be a good option for you:

1. MOTIVATED BUYERS
If you put your home on the market now, the buyers looking at this time of year have already got plans to move into their new home because when it completes it shall be Christmas! This excitement keeps them on track and motivated so that they can spend their Christmas in their lovely new home!

2. SCHOOL DATES
Children have gone back to school, a perfect time to instruct an agent. Homes will be easier to tidy, easier to view and the atmospheres will be more relaxed. If you are planning on selling, it is a well-known fact that buyers tend to start house hunting as soon as the summer holidays have ended.

3. AUTUMN MARKETING
Autumn is a great time for homes to look warm and cosy. Putting your home on the market in the colder months doesn’t mean the marketing of your home will suffer due to the weather! We offer Twilight photography to make sure your home is showcased all year round no matter what the weather!

4. COSY OR TOO SMALL?
One of the reasons houses still sell in colder months is because homeowners often retreat inside. This is the time of year people start to realise how small and cramped their home can really be, so it is motivating to find a bigger house. Is your home the one they could be looking for?

5. IMPROVED VIEWS
Does your home have a view? In Summer the trees are in full bloom which of course is great for some people but not if it is blocking out the amazing views your home has to offer. Buyers can see your views, and this can be a key selling feature to your home.

There are pros and cons of selling in all seasons. Whether its Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. No matter what the month, here at Alexanders we’ll always do our utmost to get your property sold.
